Toward a More Personalized MOOC: Data Analysis to Identify Drinking Water Production Operators’ Learning Characteristics—An Ecuador Case

چکیده
Only 35% of the Ecuadorian population consumes drinking water “assured quality”. One causes is related to deficiencies in technical ability operators due their lack education, training, and experience. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) responsive characteristics learning needs are an option strengthen skills operators. The goal present study therefore describe a methodology that includes application survey use statistical methods such as categorical principal component analysis (CATPCA) cluster identify assess characteristics. results most frequent variables personal, academic, emotional, social, cognitive aspects. They also show preferences Finally, it concluded this identifies common characteristics, needs, relevant for creation quality personalized instructional design MOOCs.

From e-Learning to m-learning: a MOOC case study
Technically e-learning material can be downloaded from a PC environment to a mobile phone environment. But the context, environment, physical limitations of a mobile phone, sets limits to a mobile learning environment. The didactic model cannot be transferred usually from e-learning to mobile learning environment. In an experiment we test the limitations of a mobile learning environment and pos...
متن کاملToward Personalized Relational Learning
Relational learning exploits relationships among instances manifested in a network to improve the predictive performance of many network mining tasks. Due to its empirical success, it has been widely applied in myriad domains. In many cases, individuals in a network are highly idiosyncratic. They not only connect to each other with a composite of factors but also are often described by some con...
متن کاملToward even more authentic case-based learning
Contemporary views of learning construe it to be a process of enculturation, constituted by the appropriation of the artifacts and practices of a community (Dewey, 1916; Resnick, 1987; Vygotsky, 1978). Learning involves collaboration, social norms, tool manipulation, domain-specific goals and heuristics, problem solving, and reflection-inaction. It is common to refer to this as authentic learni...
متن کاملDrinking Water Quality Governance: A Comparative Case Study of Brazil, Ecuador, and Malawi
Human health is greatly affected by inadequate access to sufficient and safe drinking water, especially in low and middle-income countries. Drinking water governance improvements may be one way to better drinking water quality. Over the past decade, many projects and international organizations have been dedicated to water governance; however, water governance in the drinking water sector is un...
متن کاملA Recurrent Neural Network to Identify Efficient Decision Making Units in Data Envelopment Analysis
In this paper we present a recurrent neural network model to recognize efficient Decision Making Units(DMUs) in Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). The proposed neural network model is derived from an unconstrained minimization problem. In theoretical aspect, it is shown that the proposed neural network is stable in the sense of lyapunov and globally convergent. The proposed model has a single-laye...
